Now back to Cooper, Nancy brought him up until he came to us on January 22, 2008 on a day with severe snow warnings for travel. We made the trip to Farmington Hills anyway.
He is such a good dog; we all seem to be adjusting to each other. Cooper is now almost 6 mo. He has grown so much since we got him! Taller, and runs more. He loves to walk, and gets so excited when he sees his leash.
At 6 months Cooper is getting so handsome, his hair is getting longer, thicker, and shinny. Kat and he are becoming fast friends. They often play together and often Cooper gets surprised when Kat bats him as he walks past the chair that she is hiding on.
Cooper is still is a fussy eater at 7 months, but has learned sit, come, down, and roll over. He has been spending time in the camper to get use to traveling and camping. In May 2008,Cooper went on his first traveling trip. He is a good traveler. The only problem was if he could not be with Chuck all the time. You can see the photos of him crying when the terrain was too difficult for him and he had to watch from a short distance. How that we know how he behaves in the truck, he has his own car seat.
Cooper loves to walk. Walking to the post office is the high point of his day. Finding a pinecone to carry is his main ambition. He will carry one for miles, and sometimes he is not content to have just one. He tries to stuff 2 and sometimes 3 in his mouth.
In July 08 Cooper got his first boat ride, and swim.
Cooper is now one year old. What a difference in him from when he came to us in January. I was worried about getting a new dog so soon after loosing Nickie, but am so glad that Cooper came in to our life. It had been a long time since we had a puppy in our life, having gotten rescue dogs the last four times. It was time to splurge and get the feeling of walking on chocolate pudding in the carpet again! It has been great fun teaching him a few tricks, and watching him mature. The down side is that I don’t ride my bike, as much anymore, as I feel guilty that he would miss a walk. So we walk a lot! In September he will be doing some more traveling, as we will be gone for most of the month. He is my best buddy, and constant companion.
Happy birthday Cooper boy!
Cooper is now a well traveled dog. He had a long trip in September 2008 I took some photos of Cooper in March 2009 and he looks so much older. Look at his play catch photo.
In April 2009, Cooper went on a long trip to Tennesee, North Carolina and Virginia.
In August of 2009 Cooper started agility class with Leaps & Bounds. ( http://www.simplesite.com/labkat/10258364 )
He has enjoyed having Nina here they both get along well and walk together. In September of 2010 Cooper enjoyed having Nina along for the camping trip around Lake Michigan.
The only toy the Cooper likes, is a cat cube. He get a new one about every week, so that he can play in it, and tear it up.
