                                                                          NINA

                                                                                Cotillion Phoenicianne

Nina was born March 30, 2003 to Sammi, the dream dog of Pat Brown of Cotillion Cavaliers in Elgin IL. Nancy of Giltmor Cavaliers got her on November 13, 2003. Nina was her pet, the spitting image of Sammi in every way, and also had four litters. Starting with 7 boys in her first litter (one didn't make it) of all 4 colors. Her next litter was 9, again all colors, and she may have the distinction of that record for all colors. Then Cooper's (she is Coopers mom) litter of 6 with 3 colors (everything but tri) and then Ace, a singleton tri color.

With her breeding days over Nancy found that it would be better for Nina to have a home where she would be exercised more. She has an insatiable thirst for walks, and the outdoors, just like our family. So on September 15, 2009 (gotcha day) she came to Grand Rapids to live with us.

She got her new car seat for traveling and likes it. Then she got a new coat for snowy walks. She has enjoyed her walks, and her camping trips.

Nina had her first Christmas (2009) and found it a very enjoyable experience. She and Cooper had toys, treats and good food.

We found that Nina loves the snow! She will bury her head under the snow looking for scents when walking. The day after Christmas, she got to run on the shore of Lake Michigan at Grand Haven. That was her second time on the beach. She was such a good dog this time, staying close to Cooper and us.

the 4Th of July was not fun for poor Nina! She does not like loud booms, or thunder. So she got a Thunder Shirt! She likes it and keeps her calmer.

In July 2010 she was introduced to Lake Michigan swimming. She was willing until a big wave washed over her head!  We will have to take her to calmer water.
